Qualities we are looking for in our staff are;
- Provide exceptional service. Work with patients to ensure they feel welcome and have an amazing experience at Northgate Eye Center OD, PA.
- Be a confident consultant. Help all patients and future patients understand everything the clinic provides them by your deep understanding of everything we do.
- Inform patients. Use “plain speak” to review office policy, eye care procedures and the total process, eyewear prescription terminology so the patient can understand and make sense of their eye care needs to make confident decisions.
- Talk to everyone making them feel welcome: Communicate well with patients, doctors, vendors and fellow Northgate team members.
- Know our stuff. Equipment, testing procedures, benefits of our services and why they are important, policies, brands and styles of frames and lenses their unique qualities and their benefits, know why we only offer the highest quality. You must be able to talk with confidence about all of our services. Your interaction with the patients sets the tone of the exam and their experience and we rely on your ability to communicate.
- Be accurate. Always know and understand exactly what you are communicating to patients. They don’t always hear what you think you said.
- Get the little things right. Be detail-oriented in every aspect of clinic operations. This includes all facets: Appointment details, equipment/testing procedures, closing duties, messages….
- Help us improve. If you have a comment or idea….share it. Continuous improvement is an active process.
- Be on time: Have solid and reliable transportation.

- Have fun. Vision health is of great importance but is normally a second thought to those with healthy sight. This is patients’ health, but that doesn’t mean it always has to be serious. Bring the best out of yourself and those around you. You are the first step in the exam process that is sometimes not understood by patients whose last exam was at a retail store. The clinic is judged by your professionalism, ability to communicate with the patient and energy.

Tech General Duties.

- Use state of the art diagnostic equipment measure visual system
- OPTOS
- OCT
- Tonometry
- Visual Field
- Contact lens insertion and training
- Lensometry
Requirements.
- 1-3 Years of clinical experience desired but not required.
- These are entry level positions.
- These are full time positions.
- Must pass a basic background check.
- This is a drug/smoke free environment.
Optical General Duties
- Frame styling and selection
- Speak to and learn the features, advantages and benefits of products
- Scheduling optical appointments with patients
- Monitor eyeglass production progress on an individual basis
- Insurance filing
- Understand numerous insurance plans
- Conduct on-line and in-office training
- Inventory management
- Adjusting eyewear
- Eyewear sales
- Knowing and teaching the benefits of different frames and lenses (F.A.B.)
- Contact lens insertion and training
- Lensometry
Requirements.
- 3 Years of optical experience is required.
- Experience in patient/customer service with a proven track record and references.
- Positive, motivated personality. A problem solver and leader.
- Must pass a basic background check.
- This is a drug/smoke free environment.
